Methodology
Everything here is either verified public data or clearly-framed buyer education. We do not fabricate credentials, statistics, case counts, ratings, or reviews, and we never claim a framework citation is a compliance guarantee.
Framework reference data
The 11 frameworks referenced across this site are real, independently issued regulatory materials. Each framework page cites the issuing body's public documentation, records its current status, and labels the material as direct MRM guidance, model-specific guidance, or adjacent governance guidance. That distinction prevents an operational-risk practice guide from being presented as if it were a jurisdiction's equivalent of SR 26-2. Framework mentions are informational context only. This index does not certify, validate, or guarantee that any organization or vendor satisfies a framework or an examiner.
Vendor reference data
The 34 vendors in the reference layer are real, publicly-documented model risk management advisory firms, quantitative/actuarial risk consultancies, and MRM governance software vendors. Each record was researched and then independently re-verified via web search before publication, with source URLs recorded. Only firms with a genuinely verifiable model risk management or model validation practice are included; we do not invent or list unverifiable claims. Some listed firms also serve AI governance clients - where that is the case, only their model risk management service line is described here.
Public case studies and customer releases are linked only when the vendor or another attributable public source supports the claim. A missing case study is shown as a dated research result, not as a claim that the vendor has no client work. Those gaps are scheduled for quarterly re-check.
Search demand
Guide priority and the demand figures shown on category pages come from Ahrefs keyword data for the United States. Where we did not pull a reliable figure for a term, we show no number rather than guess one.
Buyer guides
Each guide is buyer education: what an engagement covers, what to verify, what to ask in an RFP, and the red flags. Every guide passed an adversarial fact-check pass whose job was to remove any invented statistic, unverifiable certification, fake framework, or implication of a compliance guarantee. Frameworks are named only where they genuinely exist and are current, or explicitly labeled as superseded where they are not. Verify any framework-alignment claim directly with the issuing body.
Authors and review identity
Pages currently identify the Model Risk Directory editorial team as the publisher and reviewer. A named-person byline, credential, biography, or LinkedIn profile will be added only after the responsible author approves that attribution and provides verifiable details. We will not infer authorship from a GitHub account or company profile.
Press mentions and testimonials
No testimonial, publication logo, or "as seen in" claim is displayed without a verifiable public reference and permission where required. No qualifying press mention was found in the July 29, 2026 research pass.
What we will not do
- No fabricated credentials, accreditations, case counts, or vendor counts.
- No fake reviews, ratings, testimonials, or fabricated "verified" claims. A paid Verified listing (see Get listed) means KG manually confirmed the business's identity and the accuracy of its own listing facts, nothing more. It is not a customer review, a star rating, a quality score, or an endorsement of the vendor's work.
- No Review or AggregateRating structured data, because no real moderated customer reviews exist here.
- No claim that any vendor is suitable for your organization, or that any program satisfies a framework or examiner. That is your call, verified directly with the issuing body and qualified professionals.
